Architecturally the implementation used a centralized SAP ECC application tier with database and application server layers, integrating to adjacent enterprise systems through IDoc and file based interfaces. Interfaces were established to procurement, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable domains to support transactional posting and statutory reporting flows.
Governance and process work focused on centralized master data controls for chart of accounts and cost centers, formalized period end close workflows, and role based authorization aligned to FI and CO responsibilities. SAP functional consultants led unit, integration, and user acceptance testing before handover to Volvo finance and IT operations for ongoing transactional governance and support.
