| Avaloq | Legacy | Avaloq Core | Core Banking | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2011 | 2011 |
In 2011, Vontobel implemented Avaloq Core as its Core Banking platform. The deployment centralized core banking processing and client lifecycle management for institutional and wealth management functions, bringing account and transaction processing into the Avaloq Core application.
Avaloq Core was configured to deliver core ledger processing, client and account management, transaction posting and settlement orchestration, and automation of client onboarding workflows consistent with Core Banking capabilities. Configuration work focused on account structures, posting rules, reconciliation flows, and operational automation to support trade settlement and accounting across client portfolios.
Project activity at Vontobel explicitly included integration tasks for Avaloq Core and the Ullink trading tool as part of front office to back office connectivity. Those integration efforts linked equity sales trading flows to post trade processing in Avaloq Core, enabling settlement orchestration, reconciliation, and downstream accounting updates.
Operational scope addressed banking operations, trade support, and client services, with governance organized around implementation and integration workstreams for Avaloq Core and Ullink. The narrative emphasizes system-level configuration, transaction workflow orchestration, and front to back equities processing supported by the Avaloq Core application.

| Ethereum Foundation | Legacy | Ethereum Platform | Blockchain Platform | Blockchain | n/a | 2022 | 2022 |
In 2022 Vontobel implemented the Ethereum Platform as a Blockchain Platform to issue and settle tokenized structured products on a public Ethereum testnet. The implementation was executed as a proof of concept that placed Vontobel-issued tokens representing baskets of equities onto a public blockchain and enabled those tokenized securities to be traded on the FINMA-regulated BX Swiss exchange and settled in fiat currency without the involvement of a central counterparty or a central securities depository.
The deployment centered on token issuance and lifecycle automation capabilities, using smart contracts to orchestrate settlement and reduce counterparty exposure. The Capital Markets and Technology Association developed the smart contract used for settlement to eliminate counterparty risks, and Vontobel leveraged issuance technology provided by Taurus for creating tokenized structured products on the Ethereum Platform. The solution emphasized a fully automated smart contract that covered the lifecycle of the structured product from issuance through settlement.
Integrations in the trial were explicit and transaction-level, connecting the public Ethereum Platform to traditional financial plumbing. Settlement used DLT2Pay developed by targens to bridge the blockchain to SIC, the Swiss real-time gross settlement system, enabling fiat settlement flows without pre-funding the exchange. Trades were executed on BX Swiss and involved ecosystem participants including Pictet, Credit Suisse, UBS and custody technology firms such as Metaco, reflecting an operational scope focused on capital markets, structured solutions and treasury functions within Vontobel.
Governance and market structure considerations were central to the rollout, with the CMTA orchestrating the trial and BX Swiss operating as a FINMA-authorized trading venue under an evolving regulatory regime for DLT-based trading platforms. The publicly reported outcomes included operational efficiencies and lower costs, faster or near-instant settlement that reduces counterparty risk, and the potential for greater liquidity through easier access on a public blockchain, while preserving regulated trading venue oversight and fiat settlement processes.

In 2020, Vontobel implemented Cisco Webex Meetings on their website to provide client-facing and internal virtual meeting capability within its Audio Video and Web Conferencing footprint. Cisco Webex Meetings was provisioned to deliver browser-based and client-based video conferencing, meeting scheduling, screen sharing, and meeting recording, with meeting join flows embedded in Vontobel's public site and Webex-hosted conferencing services providing the backend. The implementation aligns the Cisco Webex Meetings application with standard conferencing workflows for scheduled client appointments and ad hoc collaboration.
The deployment emphasizes access control and recording governance to meet enterprise confidentiality and compliance expectations for Audio Video and Web Conferencing usage. Operational scope centers on enabling virtual client interactions through the website and supporting internal collaboration workflows, with configuration focused on authentication flows, meeting access policies, and recording management.
