Integrations were a primary element of the implementation, with SAP ERP ECC 6.0 connected to multiple SAP systems in the Boots footprint, including additional ECC and R/3 instances, CRM, SRM, BW, CAR on HANA, EP, CE, DS, and MDM. These integrations supported cross-system master data consistency, financial reporting consolidation, and data feeds between commerce and analytics platforms. Operationally the program included a centralized SAP development support model responsible for application development and change management across multiple ECC and R/3 landscapes and ancillary SAP applications. This support model governed code transport, configuration change processes, and coordinated releases to align financial processes with other retail and commerce systems within the Walgreens Boots Alliance environment.

Operational configuration work covered pay rules, work rules, access profiles, self service, delegation, widgets, hyper finds, accrual plans and holiday setups, and also extended to device management for time collection. Integrations were implemented using Kronos Connect interfaces and XML/API exchanges to import employees, labor levels and employee groups and to export hours to payroll systems. The environment integrated with ADP etime, ADP Vantage and other ADP applications including PayForce and ADP reporting, used iSeries MQ web-service XML calls for timecard and schedule inquiries, and supported PeopleSoft HRMS conversion projects, Oracle DBMS provisioning, and data migrations from SQL Server, SharePoint and Excel. Governance and rollout were managed through formal change management and SDLC processes using both Waterfall and Agile practices, including error reporting, escalation paths, test execution and generation of test data for payroll and HR interfaces. The implementation included operational support processes for service pack application, service lifecycle tasks such as stopping and starting services, and data owner approvals for HR data provisioning.
