In 2017, WCC Group B.V. integrated Actonomy xMP Data Services into its search and match technology, implementing ML based tools for detect implicit relations between jobs and skills. The Actonomy integration complemented WCC’s existing xMP Semantic Mind product and in-house algorithms to improve relevance and transparency in candidate and vacancy matching for clients in the employment space.
Actonomy delivered multilingual semantic ontologies and knowledge base services as part of Actonomy xMP Data Services, populating those ontologies with official taxonomies and augmenting them with real-world semantic knowledge extracted from job vacancy and résumé text. The development cadence for a new language version was typically 6 to 9 months, reflecting ontology modeling, language adaptation, and cultural context tuning.
The Actonomy xMP Data Services were seamlessly integrated into WCC’s search and match stack, linking semantic ontologies with WCC’s algorithmic pipelines to enable combined taxonomy and ontology driven matching workflows. Operational coverage targeted public employment organizations, with explicit references to engagements in Belgium such as VDAB and Actiris, and the integration emphasized multilingual semantic enrichment across those engagements.
Governance practices centralized taxonomy population from official international and national sources while adding processes for ontology curation to capture everyday language and cultural variants. Jan Muchez, WCC’s COO, emphasized the commercial and partnership rationale for the integration, noting Actonomy’s developer capabilities and that by adding xMP, WCC ‘‘do considerably augment our commercial success rate.’’
