| Oracle | Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise | Oracle NetSuite ERP | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Wealthfront implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP for a multi-entity financial environment, replacing Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise 15.0 and adopting an ERP Financial platform to centralize accounting and finance operations. The implementation team included four members from the company and two external consultants who executed a multi-entity chart of accounts, intercompany routines, and consolidated month-end close workflows across parent and subsidiary entities.
The Oracle NetSuite ERP configuration supported core accounting modules and month-end close controls, including journal entry preparation and review, account reconciliations, and detailed schedules for Fixed Assets, Prepaids, Intangible Assets, Deferred Rent, and Accruals. The system was configured to process intercompany allocations on a monthly basis, handling approximately $400K to $700K of direct and indirect expense allocations, and to perform advisory fee reconciliation for the parent company to calculate monthly revenue.
Operational integrations and transactional coverage included expense management integration with Expensify, where all-company expense reports and corporate credit card charges were processed and reconciled in Oracle NetSuite ERP. Payroll was recorded directly in NetSuite on a bi-monthly cadence with salary expense allocations, and accounts payable workflows supported processing of roughly 130 to 160 invoices as part of the month-end close. The implementation included coordination with Brokerage Operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of advisory fees into the financial close.
Governance was structured with Accounting and Finance ownership of month-end close and vendor risk oversight, with a finance representative serving on the Risk Review committee to assess financial risks related to onboarding new vendors. The rollout emphasized finance-led process controls, reconciliations, and operational handoffs between AP, payroll, Brokerage Operations, and external consultants during and after the NetSuite go live.
