| Microsoft | IBM AS/400 | Microsoft Dynamics NAV | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2016 | 2017 |
In 2016, Wells & Co implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV as their core financial application, replacing an IBM AS/400 and establishing a modern ERP Financial foundation to support a smaller, consolidated brewery footprint and an estate of managed, leased and tenanted pubs across England and France. The decision followed the sale and consolidation of their brewery and a need for a more user friendly ERP that could handle finance alongside complex operational requirements unique to brewing and pub management.
The deployment centered on Microsoft Dynamics NAV for finance with NORRIQ’s Drink-IT integrated as a sector specific module, delivering capabilities beyond standard financials such as property management, telesales, marketing workflows, procurement, inventory control and brewing run processes. Drink-IT was implemented as a fully integrated extension within Dynamics NAV to provide a single source of truth, enable self service data access for users, and incorporate TNP delivered enhancements tailored to Wells & Co business rules.
Operational coverage included core accounting and procurement for the new BrewPoint brewery, stock level and sales tracking for distribution to managed and tenanted pubs, and support for commercial functions including telesales and marketing. The project used a joint team model with consultant developers from TNP working directly with end users across departments to capture requirements, configure Drink-IT extensions and align NAV financial configuration with operational workflows.
Governance emphasized end user engagement and iterative enhancement, with TNP accepting feedback and delivering targeted adjustments that reflected brewing industry needs. Explicit outcomes recorded during the rollout included a single integrated system for finance and operations, improved user self service for data retrieval, and a platform intended to support BrewPoint brewing, procurement, stock management and sales going forward.
