| SAP | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2023 | 2023 |
In 2023 Welspun World implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform, initiating an organized migration from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and an ongoing implementation effort centered on materials and procurement processes. The program included three rollout projects and an on-site project presence in Anjar, Gujarat, India, with a parallel SAFAL E-Procurement initiative referenced in project activities.
The technical scope emphasized SAP Materials Management and SAP Project System capabilities within SAP S/4 HANA, including master data lifecycle for vendor and material master records, material valuation by valuation class, and procurement and inventory transaction flows such as PR, PO, Gate Entry, MIGO, Quality, MIRO, RGP, NRGP, transfer posting, STO, reservation, MRP, and inventory transfer. Implementation activities covered configuration of custom T codes, testing of custom transactions, documentation of technical specifications, and creation of BPML, BBP, KDS, UAT, SIT artifacts and gap analysis deliverables.
Integrations were handled along the standard SAP module interfaces, with SAP PS, SD, PP, QM, and FICO used to integrate project, order-to-cash, production, quality, and finance functions into the SAP MM processes inside SAP S/4 HANA. The workstream supported end-to-end procure-to-pay and inventory management orchestration, and included system integration testing and user acceptance testing to validate cross-module process continuity.
Governance practices included GRC role and authorization management for SAP MM and SAP PS, with role create, change, and revoke workflows to control business user access. Training deliverables were produced and delivered to business end users, junior staff were mentored on SAP operations, and incident management processes were implemented to respond to and resolve SAP MM tickets within defined SLAs, with prioritization and escalation practices for critical issues.
Operationally the engagement extends into post-go-live support and ongoing enhancements within SAP S/4 HANA, maintaining SAP MM system functionality and end-user support for material and service procurement and inventory management. SAP S/4 HANA serves as the core ERP Financial application for Welspun World, consolidating procurement, inventory, and project procurement capabilities under a unified platform.

The SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central deployment targeted foundational HR data and position management for an organization-wide population and interfaced with existing SAP ECC 6.0 systems in the environment.
Implementation work focused on Employee Central modules including Position Management, Foundational Objects, MDF, Manage Business Configuration portlets, Employee Files, and Employee Self Service.
