| TIMOCOM | Legacy | TIMOCOM Smart Logistics System | Real-Time Transportation Visibility | SCM | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 WEMAS Absperrtechnik implemented the TIMOCOM Smart Logistics System under the Real-Time Transportation Visibility category. Logistics Director Stefan Watzlawek moved the company away from reliance on a single main freight forwarder and initiated a platform-centric approach, shifting transport procurement and operational control to the TIMOCOM solution. The program targeted the logistics function across WEMAS operations in Germany, centralizing transport order orchestration and carrier engagement decisions under logistics leadership. Rollout and operational ownership remained with WEMAS logistics rather than an external implementation partner.
The deployment made explicit use of the TC Transport Order® application within the TIMOCOM Smart Logistics System to handle transport order creation, carrier assignment, and visibility workflows. Within eight months WEMAS assigned 2,221 orders to 855 transport service providers using the TC Transport Order® application, reflecting rapid carrier onboarding and distributed carrier selection governed by WEMAS procurement and transport planning. Functional capabilities implemented include transport order management, carrier sourcing and assignment workflows, and end to end shipment visibility consistent with the Real-Time Transportation Visibility category.
