In 2021, WesBanco implemented the FIS Integrated Banking System (IBS) as its Core Banking platform. The FIS Integrated Banking System (IBS) deployment delivered transactional processing and customer facing digital capabilities including person to person payments via the Zelle network, enhanced security controls, robust personal financial management tools for account aggregation, budgeting and spending targets, and online stop and release payment functionality. These capabilities map to Core Banking functions for deposits, payments orchestration, and digital account management. The implementation was executed as an enterprise wide deployment affecting retail digital channels, payments operations and customer servicing workflows, and it positioned the bank to pursue third party fintech partnerships via integrated payments rails and APIs. Integrations explicitly included the Zelle person to person payments network and online payment management features, supporting both consumer facing portals and back office payment processing. Governance for the conversion followed a cross functional program model with centralized configuration and coordinated cutover activities to preserve transactional integrity and security during go live. WesBanco reports improved operational efficiencies, enhanced products and services for customers, and expanded capabilities for growth and fintech partnerships as primary outcomes of the Core Banking transition to FIS Integrated Banking System (IBS).
