In 2016, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts implemented Oracle e-Business Suite Accounts Payable as part of an AP Automation initiative. The deployment ran on Oracle EBS 12.1.3 inside an Oracle Financials environment that included AP, GL, AR, SLA, Cash Management and AGIS Inter Company components.
The implementation encompassed Accounts Payable functionality alongside broad financial and project-oriented modules such as General Ledger, Projects, Project Contracts, Project Management, Project Costing, Project Billing, Revenue, Accounts Receivable and Fixed Assets. Technical delivery relied on Oracle development tools including SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, XML Publisher and Oracle Workflow Builder, with development of interface components using Oracle APIs, stored procedures, packages and BI Publisher templates. CEMLI and RICE elements were validated through UPK based testing and unit test case preparation.
Integration responsibilities covered design and development of both inbound and outbound interfaces between Oracle E-Business Suite and external systems identified as EPM, USF, CGM and BOA. The team developed and tested complex Procure to Pay, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, AGIS, Cash Management, Fixed Assets and Purchasing integrations using Oracle APIs, and coordinated integration testing with DBAs, infrastructure teams, business analysts and other vendor teams. Solution design documentation and architectural drawings were maintained to reflect interface and data flow changes.
Operational governance included managing technical teams with direct oversight of daily operations, providing day-to-day leadership for offshore resources and guiding software engineering, configuration and release management activities. The program followed established SDLC practices, including performance tuning using EXPLAIN PLAN, hints and SQL Trace, preparation of test plans, execution of unit testing and user training, and ongoing updates to technical documentation and user guides for the Oracle e-Business Suite Accounts Payable AP Automation deployment.
