In 2023, Fiocchi Munizioni implemented Cegeka MyPlan, selecting the Advanced Planning and Scheduling application after a 2022 evaluation of alternatives to Business Central's MRP. The initiative targeted manufacturing planning functions to centralize material requirements planning for finished goods managed as Make To Forecast and Assembly To Order items.
Implementation began with a four month prototyping and testing phase, during which Fiocchi stakeholders and Cegeka teams held regular meetings to validate planning logic inside Cegeka MyPlan. Development and configuration delivered customized planning rules and scenarios, including a single MRP run that treats MTF and ATO finished items in an integrated way to improve component planning efficiency. The Cegeka MyPlan configuration included category-aligned planning parameters such as demand segmentation, lot sizing approaches, and component allocation logic consistent with manufacturing workflows.
Operational coverage focused on the planning organization and production planning processes, with Planning Manager Chiara Castelnuovo leading validation and acceptance testing. Regular collaboration during configuration aligned planning parameters to Fiocchi's production constraints and bill of materials structures.
Go-live occurred in May 2023 with a smooth transition and ongoing support from Cegeka, and Cegeka MyPlan now executes integrated MRP runs for Fiocchi. The deployment achieved more efficient component planning by considering Make To Forecast and Assembly To Order approaches in a unified planning run.
