Kyriba configured Cohesity DataPlatform, DataProtect, and Cohesity SmartFiles to provide software defined enterprise file services and automated backup orchestration. The deployment used workload tagging to distinguish protection policies for production versus non production systems, tiered storage policies including S3 Glacier targets for long term retention, and built in encryption for data at rest and in transit to meet regulatory retention and compliance requirements.
Integrations were implemented with public cloud and infrastructure platforms explicitly including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Oracle, VMware, and observability with Splunk, while orchestration tied into Chef and Terraform for automated backups and DR exercises. The rollout centralized numerous small file servers into a smaller set of SmartFiles clusters across physical data centers and cloud regions, enabling full cluster restores to AWS or Azure regions as well as restores to virtual machines or physical data centers.
Governance and operational processes were restructured around a rigid workload tagging strategy and Cohesity policy automation to create a single unified business continuity plan from previously separate backup processes.
