The technical environment comprised a Windows server architecture undergoing an NT4.0 to Windows 2003 Active Directory migration using the Active Directory Migration Wizard, a managed Citrix farm for application delivery, Exchange 2003 for messaging, and centralized backup operations using Veritas 9.0 and ArchServ. Operational tooling included Ghost 2003 for imaging, Trackit! 6.0 for helpdesk operations, an 802.11b wireless network to support field devices, and handheld device synchronization supporting Palm Pilots and the Handheld Housing Inspection Interfaces.
Governance and operational support encompassed daily helpdesk oversight, mentoring and management of the computer support staff, scheduled desktop and server upgrades including a Windows XP desktop migration from Windows 98, decommissioning and new hardware provisioning, vendor coordination for equipment acquisitions, IT budget preparation, user training on network security and Emphasys Elite processes, and maintenance of the Disaster Recovery Plan.
