Rosderra Irish Meats Group Consumer Packaged Goods 1000 $180M Ireland Emydex Emydex Food Processing Manufacturing Execution System 2016 n/a In 2016, Rosderra Irish Meats Group implemented Emydex Food Processing. The deployment targeted factory and warehouse operations and was categorized as a Manufacturing Execution System, provisioned for more than 100 users at the Edenderry production site. Implementation focus included factory management and warehouse management capabilities, with configuration work emphasizing real-time shop floor data capture, batch traceability, inventory and work-in-progress tracking, and embedded quality check workflows. Emydex Food Processing was configured to produce operational and management reports, and business process mapping activities supported standardized execution flows and data capture for senior management reporting. The implementation integrated with SAP and the Foods Connected Quality Checks System, and design work involved collaboration with Glanbia SAP Analysts and BT Analysts for interface requirements. The technical stack leveraged industrial level IT infrastructure and factory-floor data capture equipment to support reliable transaction processing and traceability across production and warehouse zones. Governance and rollout were supported by dedicated business analysis and a super user model, with the IT Business Support Analyst acting as a primary system champion. The project worked closely with the Lean quality management team to embed QA workflows into operational processes and to iterate configuration based on continuous improvement initiatives.
Silver Fern Farms Consumer Packaged Goods 6000 $1.6B New Zealand Emydex Emydex Food Processing Manufacturing Execution System 2022 n/a In 2022, Silver Fern Farms implemented Emydex Food Processing, a Manufacturing Execution System. The deployment at the Belfast primal beef processing plant in Christchurch delivered a state of the art tailored production system focused on factory floor traceability and production control across the end to end slaughter and primal process. Emydex Food Processing was configured to manage booking and intake, stun station processing, live weight capture, head inspections, carcass inspections, reinspections, and grading, providing a single operational workflow for inspection and grading activities. The implementation included factory floor automation replacing legacy terminals with direct integration to programmable logic controllers, individual hook identification, and station level data capture to ensure continuous traceability and automated station reporting. The solution integrates with the existing CRS system to support streamlined payment processing and was designed to work with touch screen terminals, scales, and handheld Android barcode scanners for issuing and dispatching stock. For a related greenfield project, Emydex deployed its Manufacturing Execution System in the cloud so no additional plant IT infrastructure was required, enabling rapid rollouts across different seafood and mussel operations. Governance and rollout were driven by Silver Fern Farms project managers, process managers, business analysts, and internal QA testers, who established an on site Emydex training lab and ran full dry runs to validate kill line processes. Initial results at Belfast showed the site processed more cattle in single shifts and finished earlier, staff feedback was positive, and Silver Fern Farms accelerated a planned rollout of Emydex to 13 additional New Zealand processing plants with subsequent phases addressing production scheduling, packing, automatic labelling, and the Emydex Enterprise Management System for master data, followed by adapted livestock processing for bovine then ovine and venison.
