Oriental Insurance Company Insurance 5900 $2.4B India 3i Infotech INLIAS Claims Management Insurance Claims Management 2021 n/a
In 2021 Oriental Insurance Company deployed INLIAS Claims Management as its Insurance Claims Management solution to support a centralized operations model spanning approximately 1800 offices. The implementation addressed very high daily volumes, with around 40,000 documents entered each day and daily generation of about 50,000 transaction reports and 25,000 non-transaction reports tied to policy issuance, endorsements, claims processing and claim payments. The INLIAS Claims Management configuration emphasized document-centric workflow orchestration and claims intake controls common to Insurance Claims Management platforms, with capabilities aligned to capture, route, validate and adjudicate claim-related artifacts. The RFP and implementation scope explicitly required integration with an enterprise content management solution, enabling document-driven checks and approvals at discrete process steps to support underwriting and claims adjudication workflows. Architecturally the deployment uses a centralized core integrated with an ECM portal that exposes an interface for portal users such as customers, agents and surveyors to capture and upload documents. The ECM integration with INLIAS is designed to ensure documents required at each process step are available seamlessly to the claims and underwriting applications, enabling document viewing and upload provenance for stakeholder interaction. Governance and rollout were scoped in the RFP to improve business quality and response timing, with stated objectives to provide convenience to customers and to have a profitable impact on the petitioner business both in India and internationally. Operationally the implementation touches claims, underwriting and customer service functions and formalizes check and approval workflows through the ECM and INLIAS Claims Management integration.
