Concordia Versicherungen | Insurance | 1109 | $289M | Germany | msg life | msg.Insurance Suite | Insurance ERP | 2022 | n/a |
In 2022, Concordia Versicherungen initiated a core modernization and implemented msg.Insurance Suite P&C as its Insurance ERP to support composite insurance operations. The decision in 2022 established the msg.Insurance Suite P&C as the foundation for a new AWL Composite application landscape for inventory, process and claims management across Concordia's composite lines.
The implementation included a broad set of functional modules, notably msg.PMQ product server for product modeling and migration, msg.P&C Factory for file and damage handling, msg.Billing including intermediary current account, msg.Business Partner, msg.Workflow, msg.GDPR and msg.Digital Business Services. Immediate claims settlement within a First Notice of Loss workflow was implemented as a front end application, and existing products and contracts were migrated using migration products modeled in msg.PMQ, aligning product changes to configuration and generation rather than heavy customization.
The program was developed for cloud operation from the outset and the msg.Insurance Suite P&C platform was provisioned with extensive API capabilities to enable integrations and future extensibility. The solution was opened to the msg.Health Factory and the first release on April 26, 2025 incorporated integrations with existing Concordia systems such as SAP ICM and BSI CRM, plus new cross functional systems for input management, text and printing, archiving, and a new data warehouse, supporting sales, claims, underwriting and product management workflows.
A greenfield rollout approach was executed, building the new AWL Composite in parallel to the incumbent application landscape and delivering functionality across seven releases with staged data migration. Governance emphasized interdisciplinary teams, early involvement of Concordia staff, structured test management and close collaboration with msg nexinsure, addressing coordination complexity across departments and ensuring quality control. The program explicitly targets faster product development through msg.PMQ, higher operational efficiency, real time experiences for customers and sales partners, improved data quality for analytics and AI usage, and more digital, simpler and faster customer service as stated by Concordia leadership.

UNIQA Group | Insurance | 14850 | $6.8B | Austria | msg life | msg.Insurance Suite | Insurance ERP | 2023 | IBM |
In 2023, UNIQA Group expanded msg.Insurance Suite as its Insurance ERP platform, formalizing an all-segment, end-to-end integrated foundation for life, non-life and liability insurance operations with IBM Österreich GmbH engaged as general contractor. The deployment builds on an initial life implementation that processed all new private life business since the start of 2021 and a July 2022 tranche migration that moved 195,618 life insurance policies and their cross system data to msg.Insurance Suite.
The implementation uses the msg.Insurance Suite core components, including msg.Life Factory for policy administration and msg.P&C Factory for policy and claims management, together with uniform cross systems msg.Business Partner, msg.Billing and msg.Commission. Configuration emphasized automation and standardization of portfolio and benefit processes, consolidation of partner, broker, collection and commission data, and background processing designed to support high throughput for point-of-sale new business.
Integration and operational coverage extended in the first quarter of 2023 when msg.P&C Factory was integrated to bring non-life and liability segments onto the same platform, and since March 2023 all new non-life and liability business has been handled by msg.Insurance Suite. Roadmap items and staged rollouts are explicit, with the private accident segment scheduled for June 2023, the vehicle private segment targeted for mid 2024, and a planned migration tranche for non-life and liability contracts in September 2023, enabling a unified operational footprint across UNIQA Group markets in Austria and Central and Eastern Europe.
Project governance combined UNIQA, msg insur:it and IBM Österreich GmbH with jointly defined milestones, embedded project management for life and non-life streams, and direct coordination between technical teams to avoid post migration processing in source systems. Outcomes documented in the program include a high degree of automation and a 99 percent background processing rate for new non-life point-of-sale business, and the platform is positioned as the central Insurance ERP foundation for further product development and multi-segment portfolio consolidation.
