Hoshizaki Corporation Manufacturing 12923 $5.5B Japan NTT Group NTT DATA Biz Integral Accounting ERP Financial 2014 n/a In 2014, Hoshizaki Corporation implemented NTT DATA Biz Integral Accounting as its ERP Financial platform to rebuild accounting and reporting across 16 domestic group companies. The deployment was driven by a requirement to standardize workflows, reduce duplicated processing across Hoshizaki Electric Co., Ltd. and its 15 domestic sales companies, and to establish a foundation for future IFRS compliance and strengthened internal control. The implementation consolidated core accounting and approval functions into NTT DATA Biz Integral Accounting and an integrated web stack, including intra-mart as the web platform and DataStudio for database search and reporting. Functional modules configured and adopted included centralized accounts receivable management, centralized accounts payable and accrued liabilities flows, cashless employee expense application and account transfer, batch approval of expense requests using barcode-enabled mount sheets, electronic workflow approval for journal entry processing, and improved report output and data search capabilities. The project intentionally limited customizations, achieving an add-on rate of 18 percent to preserve upgradeability and lower long term maintenance complexity. Architecturally the new solution replaced a fragmented landscape that previously included Oracle EBS for accounting, Exchange USE for workflow, and an office computer payment/prepayment apportionment system, by linking upstream sales and debt management flows directly into Biz Integral Accounting. Integrations explicitly implemented routed sales system data and upstream debt information automatically into the accounting ledgers, and payment system interfaces fed purchase and accrual data into the consolidated financial application. Development began in April 2012 with staged rollouts, five companies entering pre-operation in August 2013 and the remaining 11 companies going live by November 2013, while JSOL acted as the system integrator and NTTDATA Group provided ongoing Biz Integral support. Project governance emphasized a formal policy for add-on acceptability and rigorous verification of enhancement benefits, using JSOL’s Biz introduction methodology and a J-Model inspired approach to minimize customer side resource split. Operational rollout included master data consolidation, role based training, a To-Do based deployment support process, and centralized accounting checkpoints for superior and accounting approvals. As stated by the program sponsors, the outcome was a standardized domestic accounting management base, strengthened domestic capability to support globalization, clearer internal control through workflow electronic approvals, and a platform positioned for future consolidation of duplicated management department work.
