Beauty Works | Retail | 207 | $30M | United Kingdom | Pimcore Software | Pimcore MDM | Master Data Management | 2023 | Scandiweb |
In 2023, Beauty Works deployed Pimcore MDM to create a centralized master repository for product data supporting both B2C and B2B commerce across the United Kingdom. The implementation established Pimcore MDM as the single source of truth within its Master Data Management capability, consolidating product attributes, variant structures, and associated digital assets for retail operations.
The deployment, executed with Scandiweb, configured Pimcore PIM/MDM modules for product modeling, taxonomy management, digital asset management, and channel syndication to two Magento 2 commerce instances. Architecture centered on a canonical product model and normalized data feeds, enabling automated publish workflows and reducing manual reconciliations between channels.
Operational coverage included merchandising, catalog management, and e-commerce operations for both B2C and B2B teams across the UK, with Pimcore MDM feeding each Magento 2 instance as a targeted storefront channel. Governance changes introduced centralized authoring and version control, which eliminated duplicated entry across systems, streamlined updates, and increased operational efficiency and responsiveness to market changes.

famila-Handelsmarkt Kiel | Retail | 600 | $80M | Germany | Pimcore Software | Pimcore MDM | Master Data Management | 2018 | n/a |
In 2018, famila-Handelsmarkt Kiel deployed Pimcore MDM for Master Data Management to support the relaunch of the famila-nordwest.de website. The initiative aimed to bring famila's in-store identity to a mobile first, regionally styled web presence while preserving a customer friendly shopping atmosphere. Junge Haie GmbH managed the relaunch and established a Pimcore based content management foundation to drive the front end experience.
Pimcore MDM was configured to centralize product, content and customer master records and to act as the authoritative data backbone for the CMS. Implemented functional modules include a market selection flow that resolves postal code or geolocation and persists the selected market after leaving the site, a browser based notepad shopping list that saves entries locally, an editorial recipe module that ingests recipe and product data from famila's database and enriches it in the CMS, an event module supporting multiple event types with configurable visibility periods, and a sweepstakes plugin where customer participation data is stored in Pimcore and can be exported. The Pimcore MDM implementation also enabled automated mailings from the platform to confirm event registrations.
Operational coverage prioritized the regional famila Nordwest web footprint and support for store level merchandising and customer engagement processes, impacting marketing, e commerce and events operations. Governance was implemented through editorial workflows inside the Pimcore CMS to allow content teams to enrich recipes, manage sweepstakes and control event visibility, while exportable participation data provided a direct operational handoff for reporting and follow up. Pimcore MDM was positioned as the central orchestration layer for content, product master data and customer interaction on the public website.

Lactais Group | Consumer Packaged Goods | 75000 | $21.1B | France | Pimcore Software | Pimcore MDM | Master Data Management | 2019 | Datasolution |
In 2019 Lactalis Group deployed Pimcore MDM as a group product database in France to harmonize multi-domain master data across products, recipes, factories, and packaging. The Pimcore MDM implementation is classified under the Master Data Management category and was executed as a multi-division rollout to centralize product information and governance.
The implementation used Pimcore PIM MDM capabilities to consolidate product master records, standardize data models, and establish workflow-driven product creation processes. Configuration focused on multi-domain master data management, product attributes and taxonomy, recipe and manufacturing site records, packaging specifications, and KPI tracking for product creation workflows as described in the Pimcore case study.
Datasolution served as the systems integrator for the deployment, implementing integrations between Pimcore MDM and core operational systems, including SAP, warehouse management systems, and external channel endpoints. Connectivity was delivered through application connectors and API-based interfaces to ensure synchronized master records across ERP, WMS, and downstream publishing channels, enabling a single source of truth for product data across divisions in France.
Governance was restructured to standardize processes across business units, introducing centralized stewardship, standardized data validation, and KPI monitoring for product onboarding. The multi-division deployment reduced duplicate data, approximately 30 percent reported, and established cross-functional workflows touching product management, manufacturing, packaging, supply chain operations, and commercial channel publication.
