In 2017 GlobalFoundries deployed Synopsys PrimeSim HSPICE as a core tool in its Circuit Simulation workflows within the Design Enablement organization. The deployment positioned Synopsys PrimeSim HSPICE to support model development and circuit benchmarking across GF advanced technology nodes, linking simulation artifacts directly to testchip measurement analysis.
At the module level the implementation centered on variation modeling and behavioral verification, specifically creating fixed corner corners and Monte Carlo variation models, running HSPICE simulations of representative circuits and benchmarking simple circuits such as ring oscillators to evaluate delay and leakage characteristics.
