In 2016, Phil Gilbert Motor Group implemented Unipay Payroll in a Payroll deployment to centralize and standardize payroll operations. Unipay Payroll was used to process weekly timesheets for over 230 employees via Unipay/ERA and to manage monthly commissions payroll and standard pay cycles across the organization.
Configured capabilities included a core payroll engine for weekly and monthly payroll runs, a timesheet interface integrated with Unipay/ERA for hourly and rostered staff, a commissions processing module for monthly commission calculations, superannuation payment processing, PAYG reconciliation routines, and termination and redundancy payout calculation logic. The Unipay Payroll implementation supported weekly PAYG reporting and monthly PAYG reconciliation workflows together with monthly superannuation remittance processes.
Operational coverage focused on HR and payroll business functions, with the Payroll Officer and HR assistant executing timesheet processing, commission runs, reconciliations, termination payouts, and onboarding tasks. Onboarding and HR administration were coordinated through ELMO for candidate screening, contract and job description provisioning, and new hire setup, while governance centered on routine reconciliation and payroll run controls executed by the internal payroll and HR team.

Servco Australia | Automotive | 1200 | $200M | Australia | Unipay | Unipay Payroll | Payroll | 2019 | n/a |
In 2019, Servco Australia implemented Unipay Payroll as its centralized Payroll application. The rollout targeted the Corporate Shared Services centre in South Brisbane and extended to 29 dealership rooftops across Australia, covering national payroll operations for approximately 1,200 employees. The implementation was positioned to support both national and global payroll projects and to provide central ownership for payroll administration.
Unipay Payroll was configured to provide core payroll processing, statutory pay calculations, executive reporting and support for auditable payroll workflows. The Payroll Officer role was defined to own day to day management and to coordinate system administration across the corporate payroll team, the Australian HRSS Team and dealership payroll contacts. Configuration work emphasized report extraction, role based access controls and standardized pay run procedures aligned with payroll governance requirements.
Integration work focused on automation between Unipay Payroll and Servco Australia’s HRIS ecosystem, explicitly connecting to Workday for employee master data synchronization and pay event orchestration, while operating in parallel with Preceda as an additional payroll engine. Technical liaison responsibilities were established with internal and external technical teams to manage interfaces, exception handling and support escalations. Data exchange design emphasized secure, auditable transfer of payroll inputs and outputs and operational continuity across sites.
Governance and the operating model centralized payroll ownership within the Corporate Shared Services team and embedded payroll coordination into HR systems governance with the global HR Systems team. The implementation instituted formal support and escalation pathways and documentation practices to support auditability and executive reporting. Servco Australia maintained Unipay Payroll as the primary Payroll application for national operations.
