Apps Purchases: 10+ Million Software Purchases
Founded in 2010, APPS RUN THE WORLD is a leading technology intelligence and market-research company devoted to the application space. Leveraging a rigorous data-centric research methodology, we ask the simple B2B sales intelligence question: Who’s buying enterprise applications from whom and why?
Our global team of 50 researchers has been studying the digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by 2 million + companies including technographic segmentation of 10 million ERP, EPM, CRM, HCM, Procurement, SCM, Treasury software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions and perhaps the rise and fall of certain vendors and their products on a quarterly basis.
Apps Run The World Buyer Insight and Technographics Customer Database has over 100 data fields that detail company usage of emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database, and different on-prem and cloud apps by function, customer size (employees, revenues), industry, country, implementation status, year deal won, partner involvement, Line of Business Key Stakeholders and key decision-makers contact details, including the systems being used by Fortune 1000 and Global 2000 companies.

Midas Safety | Distribution | 2727 | $320M | Sri Lanka | Palo Alto Networks | Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN | SD-WAN | 2022 | n/a | In 2022, Midas Safety implemented Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN to secure and optimize WAN connectivity for its global distribution and manufacturing operations. The SD-WAN deployment targeted 17 locations including factories in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka and addressed remote offices in China, Russia, and Malaysia where simple VPNs and gaps in firewall coverage had degraded security and the user experience. Midas Safety deployed Prisma SASE with Security Service Edge capabilities through Prisma Access, and implemented Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN on Instant-On Network ION devices to converge networking and security into a unified cloud-native service. Functional capabilities configured included application specific load balancing, WAN traffic prioritization, automatic failover, and mobile user Autonomous Digital Experience Management to deliver a unified operational view across branches and remote users. The implementation embedded zero trust controls, enforcing least privileged access and continuous trust verification across users, devices, and applications. Operational scope covered corporate sites, manufacturing facilities, and a rapidly expanded remote workforce that grew by up to 70 percent during the pandemic, bringing cloud compliance and local data protection requirements into scope. Prisma SD-WAN moved traffic away from MPLS and optimized WAN bandwidth utilization, an explicit outcome was a 25 percent reduction in data circuit costs, while automatic failover delivered zero gaps in the user experience. Security outcomes reported included an 85 percent decrease in malicious DNS requests, from 16,000 to 2,500, and Cortex XDR integrated with the SASE environment to strengthen detection and response while supporting GDPR and cloud compliance across geographies. Governance and operational changes focused on consolidating multiple security tools into a single SASE platform to simplify management and standardize security posture across geographies, with continuous security inspection and unified policy enforcement. This structural convergence centralized control for network and information security teams and reduced operational complexity for distributed manufacturing operations and a dispersed remote workforce. | |
