In 2020 Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation Australia implemented Zscaler CASB as part of a Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange deployment in Australia. The Zscaler CASB deployment focused on protecting retirement and financial data and improving remote access for CSC's 700,000+ members, using Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB) functionality to secure cloud traffic and control SaaS and IaaS data flows.
Zscaler CASB was configured to secure SaaS and IaaS data, applying data protection policies, cloud application discovery, access control enforcement and inline security inspection consistent with Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB) capabilities. Configuration included policy driven data loss prevention, contextual user and device access controls, and cloud session monitoring to reduce unmanaged cloud risk and enforce compliance across sanctioned cloud services.
The implementation integrated Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange controls into CSC's remote access and cloud access workflows, extending protections across member facing services and core IT security operations in Australia. Systems integrator A23 supported the deployment and rollout, and governance centralized policy management to streamline security administration and operational oversight.
The case study reports the deployment delivered 70% improved user experience, 30% reduced management overhead and an estimated A$200,000 annual savings as outcomes of the Zscaler CASB implementation.
