Terra Teak and Garden | Retail | 100 | $10M | United States | STORIS | STORIS Furniture Retail Accounting | Retail Management | 2012 | n/a | In 2012, Terra Teak and Garden implemented STORIS Furniture Retail Accounting as its Retail Management application. The deployment centralized core accounting and retail order workflows for the company based in the United States, positioning STORIS Furniture Retail Accounting as the primary back office system for store and finance operations. The implementation covered explicit accounting modules including accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly close and profit and loss reporting, and reconciliations of bank statements, credit card accounts and general ledger accounts. Functional capabilities also included customer special order processing, stock order processing, semi-monthly payroll processing and employee benefits administration, and the setup and ongoing maintenance of operational spreadsheets such as rent schedules, vehicle tracking and bonus structure templates. Operational integration focused on ensuring data alignment between store sales and financial records, specifically verifying that daily sales reports from Storis point of sale balance to credit card reports and bank statements. Reconciliation workflows were implemented to reconcile credit card batches, bank deposits and the general ledger, and monthly close procedures were organized around these reconciliations and the generation of profit and loss outputs. Governance and process changes centered on formalizing accounting and order management workflows, with finance owning bank and ledger reconciliations and payroll processing on a semi-monthly cadence. The deployment emphasized spreadsheet-driven controls and schedules for recurring obligations, and embedded special order and stock order processing into retail operations to align sales floor activity with accounting and fulfillment processes. | |
