In 2012 Kansas City Board of Public Utilities implemented Oracle OBIA with Rolta serving as the implementation partner and program manager. The engagement focused on deploying Oracle OBIA within the Analytics and BI category to deliver a reporting and analytics solution configured specifically for public utility financials.
The implementation centered on the Oracle BI Financial Analytics application, leveraging prebuilt Oracle BI apps combined with custom OBIEE development to extend reporting coverage. Data integration was executed from PeopleSoft as the source of record, with design and configuration work to align Oracle OBIA data models and ETL patterns to the utility chart of accounts and transaction structures.
Rolta planned, designed, architected, implemented and rolled out the solution, coordinating project management across the utility finance and IT stakeholders to operationalize financial reporting, consolidated analytics and dashboard publishing. The deployment emphasized structured BI governance, configuration of Financial Analytics modules for utility financials, and OBIEE-based presentation layer customizations to meet the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities reporting requirements.
