Badan Pusat Statistik Government 3000 $500M Indonesia Tungsten Automation Tungsten TotalAgility (formerly Kofax TotalAgility) Intelligent Document Processing 2016 n/a In 2016, Badan Pusat Statistik implemented Tungsten TotalAgility (formerly Kofax TotalAgility) as an Intelligent Document Processing platform to support national census operations and distributed field data capture. The deployment targeted capture and automated transformation of census documents to address collection challenges across Indonesia's remote areas. The implementation combined Tungsten TotalAgility core capabilities for document capture, data transformation, and process orchestration with Kofax Mobile Capture for smartphone based intake. Functional modules configured included automated image capture, OCR extraction and data validation workflows, process intelligence for monitoring case progress, e-signature for consent capture, and targeted citizen communications for follow up. Integrations routed mobile uploads directly into TotalAgility for centralized orchestration and downstream transformation, creating a field to back office handoff that preserved captured images and extracted data for statistical processing. Operational coverage included census field teams and back office statistical processing units across Indonesia, explicitly enabling respondents in remote areas to use cellphone cameras to submit documents where power unreliability previously caused delays. Governance and workflow restructuring focused on standardized capture-to-approval pipelines and embedded process intelligence to track throughput and consent events, improving control over census data flows. Outcomes described by BPS included elimination of delays caused by power unreliability and the intended increase in operational efficiency and citizen satisfaction.
