Atos acted as the systems integrator on a Global Single Instance program serving Alstom Transport, coordinating cross-functional teams including Unix, DBA, storage and backup in the Paris region and an international rollout context. The implementation used IBM Power Systems to host SAP landscapes and supporting middleware, explicitly covering SAP ECC EHP6 and BI 7 NW 7.31 installations, a BusinessObjects XI 4 business intelligence layer, Content Server 6.40 for enterprise content, and Dollar Universe 6.1 for job scheduling. SAP Basis administration activities were embedded in the deployment, including landscape provisioning from scratch, system refreshes for synchronous SAP systems and ongoing N3 support for operational stability. Integrations emphasized infrastructure and operations handoffs, with Atos coordinating OS and database migration exports for SAP R 3 4.6c and aligning SAP Basis, Unix, DBA, storage and backup workflows to the IBM Power Systems platform. The project included implementation into production and SAP Basis run book responsibilities, consolidating application hosting, compute provisioning and platform-level monitoring under the Application Hosting and Computing Services engagement. Governance followed a GSI project model with defined production cutover, N3 support ownership and SAP Basis administration for the installed environments. The deployment positioned IBM Power Systems as the enterprise compute layer for SAP operations, business intelligence and content management within Alstom Transport, with Atos providing integration and operational transition services. | |
