In 2019 Essentra deployed Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as part of an enterprise scale program in the ERP Financial category. Columbus Global engaged a D365 Functional Solution Architect to lead the supply chain stream, with the architect assigned from March 2019 to February 2020 to drive analysis and design activities for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation.
The engagement focused on supply chain functional design and system configuration, with explicit responsibilities including requirements gathering, process design, system design, system configuration, and modification design. Workstreams addressed standard ERP Financial aligned supply chain capabilities such as procurement workflows, inventory control, order processing and the accounting transaction interfaces that map to general ledger structures.
Architecturally the implementation was positioned as an enterprise scale Dynamics 365 Business Central deployment, with the supply chain stream designed to integrate functionally with finance and operations processes. Columbus Global provided implementation services, and the solution architect led cross functional workshops and solution blueprints to align configuration and customizations with business processes.
Governance activities were centered on formal analysis and design phases, with the D365 Functional Solution Architect accountable for requirements traceability, design sign off, configuration standards and modification specifications. The project record documents the role and timeframe of the architect during March 2019 to February 2020, and confirms Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the core ERP Financial application for Essentra.
