Professional Services | 2700 | $800M | United States | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations - Order Management | Order Management | 2020 | In 2020, Amy's Kitchen implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations - Order Management in the cloud. Columbus spent six months with the Amy's team to map pain points across functional areas, bring teams together and evaluate processes supporting the companys complex global ingredient supply chain and manufacturing footprint. The deployment configured core Finance, Inventory, Order Management and Manufacturing capabilities inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations - Order Management, consolidating growing agreements, order processing, inventory visibility and production control. Configuration and module setup emphasized material tracking into plants and stricter production controls to support Amy's high quality standards. Amy's also implemented Power BI to deliver leadership reporting and operational insights, integrating BI-driven dashboards with the Dynamics 365 data model to reduce time spent generating regular management reports. The technical architecture was a cloud migration from AX 2012 on-premise to Microsoft Dynamics 365, centralizing transactional processing and reporting for order to cash and manufacturing workflows. Governance and process transformation were guided by Columbus and Amy's enterprise applications leadership, updating cross-functional workflows across production facilities and centralizing data for inventory, financials and order management. Reported outcomes include improved tracking of materials into plants, stricter production control, more efficient production facilities with reduced downtime, and time savings in generating regular reports for management.

Non Profit | 244 | $72M | United Kingdom | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central | ERP Financial | 2019 | In 2019 Alzheimer's Research UK implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as an ERP Financial application to address mobility limits, manual reconciliation, and constrained reporting in their existing finance software. Columbus partnered closely with the charity's finance team and the Head of Finance to define implementation goals, set the scope of integrations, and ensure delivery to the agreed timescales. The implementation combined Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with Jet Reports and Power BI to provide enhanced reporting and real-time data access. Configuration work included support for partial VAT exemption handling, tailored report development, and automation of purchase order approvals using the Microsoft Power Platform, converting previously manual approval workflows into system-driven processes. Integrations implemented or scoped during the project include a seamless linkage between Business Central and the charity's Grant Tracking software, and planned integration work with the fundraising system Raisers Edge, with income postings currently processed manually. The deployment followed a cloud-first model, providing remote and mobile access to staff, enhanced data security, and business continuity through regular Microsoft updates and reduced internal infrastructure demands. Governance and rollout emphasized close collaboration between Columbus and Alzheimer’s Research UK finance leadership, with joint decisions on integration boundaries and phased delivery aligned to internal change capacity. Operational coverage focused on the finance function, including grant reconciliation, reporting, VAT processing, and procurement approvals, with ongoing work to refine integrations and reporting outputs. Explicit outcomes reported by the charity include a threefold speed improvement in the grant reconciliation task, reducing the bimonthly activity to 20 minutes from approximately one hour, and time savings of up to two thirds on processes affected by partial VAT exemption handling. Reporting accessibility and detail were substantially improved, and the cloud deployment enabled continuous remote access, predictable operational costs, and reduced IT management overhead.

Non Profit | 244 | $72M | United Kingdom | Blackbaud | Blackbaud Raiser Edge NXT | Donor and Fundraising Management | 2019 | In 2019, Alzheimer's Research UK implemented Blackbaud Raiser Edge NXT as its Donor and Fundraising Management platform to centralize donor records, income tracking and fundraising workflows. The deployment was scoped to improve business efficiency, reporting access and mobile availability for fundraising and income teams across the charity. The implementation covered core donor management and fundraising income workflows within Blackbaud Raiser Edge NXT, with a specific focus on automating gift capture, gift attribution and the downstream income posting process. Project scope included configuration to support structured income postings and reconciliation touchpoints so fundraising transactions could be funneled into financial processes with fewer manual handoffs. Blackbaud Raiser Edge NXT was integrated into a combined finance and reporting architecture that included Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Jet Reports and Power BI, and linked to the existing Grant Tracking software. Integrating Blackbaud Raiser Edge NXT with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central was explicitly scoped to address manual income postings and to enable fund and grant reconciliation across fundraising and finance systems. Columbus worked closely with Alzheimer’s Research UK finance leadership to define integration scope, delivery timescales and acceptance criteria, aligning fundraising, finance and grant reconciliation process changes. As part of the combined solution, the organization reported concrete operational improvements in finance workflows and reporting, for example grant reconciliation moved from roughly one hour to about 20 minutes per cycle, reporting capabilities were significantly enhanced through tailored Jet Reports and Power BI outputs, and cloud-first deployment delivered improved remote access and data security for fundraising and finance users.
