Boot Barn | Retail | 11300 | $1.7B | United States | Koerber AG | Korber HighJump Warehouse Advantage | Warehouse Management | 2021 |
In 2021, Boot Barn implemented Korber HighJump Warehouse Advantage as part of an intelligent warehouse automation and control initiative in its Wichita, Kansas e-commerce distribution center. The deployment accompanied a roughly 45,000 square foot expansion and a goods-to-person conveyor layout built on a three-level mezzanine, 12 intelligent diverts and 48 pick zones to increase unit storage density and pick throughput.
Korber HighJump Warehouse Advantage was configured to manage traditional Warehouse Management functions and to coordinate with a Körber Warehouse Control System for real time material flow and tote orchestration. Functional capabilities implemented include dynamic tote allocation, order-to-zone assignment, tote state tracking, pick sequencing to packing or consolidation, and a dashboard for visibility and manual intervention, consistent with Warehouse Management operational workflows.
The Körber Warehouse Control System was implemented by E2 Solutions, with the project completed in under a year and the WCS portion delivered in under four months. The implementation emphasized a single-vendor WMS and WCS interface responsibility, enabling tighter integration between high level inventory and order logic in Korber HighJump Warehouse Advantage and low level conveyor diverts, reroute logic and zone-level tote management in the WCS.
Operational coverage targeted Boot Barns e-commerce fulfillment processes at the Wichita DC and touched picking, packing, consolidation, receiving and put-away workflows that support the companys broader retail and online channels. The WCS enforces a predetermined empty tote threshold per zone to level work and preserve put-away space, an automated behavior noted in project documentation as optimizing throughput while providing dashboard driven controls for exception handling.
