In 2019 PG Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its core ERP Financial platform, engaging iOCO as the system integrator to lead the program across the organization. The rollout targeted consolidation of financial processes and master data harmonization to support optimisation of business services and products across PG Group operations in South Africa.
The SAP S/4 HANA implementation focused on ERP Financial capabilities, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Controlling, Asset Accounting and financial close orchestration. Configuration work emphasized standardized chart of accounts, statutory reporting alignment and transaction-level posting rules, enabling a unified financial ledgers architecture and centralized period close workflows.
Operational design integrated SAP S/4 HANA with departmental transaction streams and client-facing finance processes, supporting end-to-end order-to-cash and procure-to-pay pathways while preserving department-level controls. The deployment architecture centered on a single S/4 HANA core that consolidated financial master data and transactional processing for the company, with interfaces to departmental systems managed through integration points and data validation controls.
Governance was led by a project management team that directed user acceptance testing activities, working directly with departments, clients and management teams to validate configurations and business process changes. The UAT-led governance approach and cross-functional engagement supported process redefinition around finance workflows and contributed to stated optimisation of business services and products.
