In 2013, Royal Opera House implemented Infor SunSystems as its ERP Financial solution. The Infor SunSystems deployment was delivered with Sapphire Systems as the implementation partner and formed part of a broader 2013 upgrade program that also included Tessitura, payroll systems, and BACs payment processing.
Configured capabilities focused on core finance functions consistent with ERP Financial deployments, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation and cash management, fixed assets control, and consolidated financial reporting. The implementation emphasized configuration of chart of accounts, approval workflows, and financial reporting structures to support corporate accounting and statutory reporting.
Integrations were established between Infor SunSystems and Tessitura to capture ticketing revenue postings, with automated posting interfaces to the payroll system for payroll journal entries, and with BACs payment rails for outgoing disbursements and bank file processing. Operational coverage centered on finance and payroll functions across the Royal Opera House, aligning ticketing revenue, payroll accounting, and payment execution into a single financial ledger.
Governance was managed through a PMO approach, with Sapphire Systems working alongside Royal Opera House finance leadership to run a phased rollout, finalize process and control documentation, and deliver user training for accountants and payroll administrators. The program prioritized workflow standardization, segregation of duties in payment approvals, and centralized financial reporting through Infor SunSystems.

In 2017, Sadler’s Wells reassessed support arrangements for its Infor SunSystems deployment, retaining Infor SunSystems as its core ERP Financial application. As an existing Infor SunSystems user they reviewed three software partners, including their incumbent support provider, and selected Sapphire Systems as the new software support partner.
Sapphire Systems was selected after an evaluation led by finance stakeholders, with Ben Dart, Project Accountant, citing Sapphire’s presentation as decisive and giving him confidence that they could provide the required ongoing support. The engagement shifted support governance to Sapphire Systems, centralizing application support, incident management, and vendor escalation for finance and accounting operations on Infor SunSystems, while operational ownership and the Infor SunSystems environment remained within Sadler’s Wells finance.
