In 2018, Visana implemented SAP HCM (HR) in the Core HR category, deploying TeamWork's teamworksolutions HTML5 framework to modernize user interfaces and reengineer time and learning workflows. The engagement targeted core HR operational processes for Visana's Swiss operations, prioritizing employee self-service for time capture and streamlined seminar registration workflows.
The eTime project was delivered in two main phases, first analyzing and adapting existing time management processes, then implementing workflow-based processes on SAP HCM. Functionality implemented in SAP HCM includes browser-based attendance and absence recording, stamp corrections, employee access to personal time and payroll data, manager access to subordinate time records, team overviews, and up-to-date time balance visibility.
The eSeminar project centralized training administration by publishing SAP Event Management seminar records to the intranet, enabling employees to register directly through the portal. Registration, participant correspondence, supervisor notifications, and calendar entries in Outlook are generated from SAP, automating previously manual steps and allowing the system to absorb annual peak volumes of up to 600 registrations per day.
Architecturally the solution uses the teamworksolutions HTML5 framework tightly integrated into SAP HCM (HR), adapted to Visana's corporate layout and extended for additional functionality. TeamWork acted as the implementation partner, delivering the HTML5 user interface, workflow orchestration, and SAP event management integration, while rollout followed phased process optimization and automation to reduce training needs and improve user-friendliness for employees and managers.
