The deployment targets core finance functions, aligning the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central application with the companys accounting, treasury, and financial planning activities, reflecting the ERP Financial category focus on general ledger, cash management, and multi-entity accounting.
Configuration work included redesigning and cleaning the chart of accounts, establishing multi-entity and provincial parameters for reporting, and building standardized journal entry upload templates and reporting queries. Automation and systemization efforts were scoped to support month end simulation and routine process automation, batch electronic EFT payments and multiple bank account transfers, and the distribution of cardholder Visa statements, consistent with ERP Financial functional workflows.
Integrations were implemented or preserved to maintain operational continuity with practice-level systems and finance tooling, specifically integrating Sikka interface data flows for revenue and cash booking mass uploads, Certify expense reporting, an online accounts payable automation platform, Trintech Adra bank reconciliation ingest of RBC transaction data, and data exchange tables feeding the corporate data warehouse for BI analytics. The project also involved converting or mapping Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting data into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central structures to support ongoing transactional processing and reporting.
Governance and rollout were organized under the Director of Finance with the Senior Financial Systems Analyst accountable for system administration, documentation, training, and ongoing change management. Responsibilities included policy and procedure standardization, user training materials for finance and accounting teams, maintenance of SQL data exchange templates, and collaboration with IT and external consultants to operationalize integrations and support finance driven process changes.
