In 2019, 3F Filippi began implementing SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform to support group consolidation and the integration of the newly acquired Targetti Group. The SAP S/4 HANA program ran as a multi-year initiative from January 2019 to January 2021 under the Group CFO, aligning the finance platform with corporate AFC responsibilities across the group.
The implementation emphasized core finance capabilities within SAP S/4 HANA, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, and period close and consolidation workflows, consistent with ERP Financial functional patterns. The program explicitly included an HFM implementation for management reporting and a treasury system go live, which were configured to support centralized financial control and management reporting requirements.
Integration work focused on connecting SAP S/4 HANA with HFM for statutory and management consolidation and with the new treasury system for cash and liquidity management, reflecting a finance centric integration topology. The deployment covered 14 consolidated companies and operational sites including two manufacturing locations in Italy, one in China, and one in the United States, with administration, treasury, and management control as primary business functions impacted.
Governance was organized under the Group CFO acting as project leader, with the corporate AFC functions overseeing rollout and change control, and a direct reporting team of 12 employees in administration, treasury, and management control providing program coordination. The rollout approach was phased to accommodate the Targetti Group integration and to sequence S/4 HANA go live, HFM reporting deployment, and treasury system activation across the consolidated entities.
