In 2016, A2A implemented GE Vernova's SmartSignal within an Asset Performance Management program for power generation asset monitoring. The deployment targeted combined cycle gas turbines and other plant equipment, and it was operated across multiple Italian sites to detect anomalies and prevent equipment failures.
The SmartSignal implementation focused on predictive analytics and automated anomaly detection, with configuration of asset models and continuous monitoring workflows. Models and monitoring practices have matured since 2016, enabling condition monitoring, asset health scoring, and alerting that support maintenance decisioning and fault escalation processes.
A2A transitioned from a long running on premises monitoring approach to a cloud APM architecture, centralizing model management and monitoring operations while maintaining site level instrumentation for turbine and plant equipment coverage. The implementation supports operational visibility for operations and maintenance teams across the company’s Italian generation sites, and SmartSignal is used as the analytics engine within the Asset Performance Management stack.
Governance centered on model lifecycle management and operationalizing analytics for maintenance workflows, with monitoring and model refinement ongoing since the initial 2016 deployment. The system has delivered early detection of bearing and valve issues and has helped avoid major outages in Italy, supporting A2A’s preventive maintenance and reliability objectives.

| Cisco Systems | Legacy | Cisco Webex Meetings | Audio Video and Web Conferencing | Collaboration | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, A2A deployed Cisco Webex Meetings on its public website to enable browser-based conferencing for external stakeholders. Cisco Webex Meetings is positioned within the Audio Video and Web Conferencing category and functions as the primary site-embedded meeting layer for scheduled and ad hoc virtual sessions.
The implementation configures Cisco Webex Meetings meeting orchestration and scheduling modules, embedded join flows, and real-time audio and video streams to run directly from A2A web pages. Configuration leverages meeting widgets and join links to minimize client requirements, aligning with Audio Video and Web Conferencing capabilities for attendee registration, session moderation, and live media management. The deployment follows browser-based media negotiation and session control patterns typical of Cisco Webex Meetings implementations.
Operational coverage is externally oriented through A2A's website, positioning Cisco Webex Meetings to support customer-facing virtual engagements and web-hosted sessions across A2A digital channels. Administrative controls are handled via the Cisco Webex Meetings management console, enabling centralized meeting policy, participant moderation, and authentication flows. The implementation narrative therefore centers on application embedding, session orchestration, and standard conferencing governance patterns.
