| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Flexcube | Core Banking | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015, Access Bank implemented Oracle FLEXCUBE as its Core Banking platform, deploying FCUBS 12.0.2 to provide a unified core banking application across retail and branch operations. The implementation centered on Oracle Flexcube FCUBS 12.0.2 and a CBA deployment model intended to support 24 X 7 high availability for customer transactions and end of cycle processing.
The technical architecture included database installation and WebLogic server configuration, plus the implementation of an ATM Gateway and a more robust Multi-Journal and ATM-POS Sequence process. The Multi-Journal/ATM-POS Sequence change, implemented in coordination with OFSS, increased the transaction threshold from 1.6M to 14M before flush to history. Operational modules and automation work covered End of Day, End of Month and End of Year process runs, resolution of end of cycle aborts, and PL/SQL driven process automation.
Integrations explicitly implemented included an ATM Gateway and coordination with OFSS for transaction sequencing, while static data migration activities moved 30 million customer records into the new M8 FCUBS using SCRUM methodology. Operational coverage extended to branch IT support officers and entry level staff, with system administration responsibilities that included PL/SQL based back end fixes, database incident resolution, and ad-hoc FCUBS problem remediation to protect customer transaction flow.
Governance and operationalization included use of SCRUM during the static data migration, formulation input to IT policy and strategic platform planning, and a structured incident management approach covering problem identification, workarounds, root cause analysis and permanent code fixes. The program delivered technical training for FCUBS 12.0.2, provisioning CBA technical training to entry level staff and IT support officers, and maintained liaison between IT and business teams for application growth and modification planning.
Outcomes explicitly reported from the implementation included the increased transaction threshold from 1.6M to 14M before flush to history and a training throughput averaging 80 graduate trainees every quarter with a 99% distinction rate for FCUBS architecture instruction.

In 2018 Access Bank implemented ProcessMaker BPM to standardize and streamline branch and departmental workflows as part of a broader Process Mining initiative. The bank had selected ProcessMaker in August 2017 and kicked off the project in November 2017, establishing a timeline that moved from vendor selection to enterprise rollout across its banking operations.
The deployment focused on ProcessMaker BPM core capabilities for banking workflow automation, leveraging low code configuration to automate multiple process categories. Business users, C-suite stakeholders, and IT collaborated on form driven workflows, process orchestration, and rule based automation to reduce handoffs and centralize approvals. The platform was applied to operational, legal, customer service, and compliance processes to create a consistent execution layer across functions.
Integrations emphasized connecting front office and back office workflows to a single automation platform, enabling cross departmental process continuity and visibility. ProcessMaker BPM served as the unified workflow engine across branches and internal departments rather than a point solution, supporting scaled operations as the bank expanded its footprint.
Governance and rollout were organized to enable business led process configuration with IT oversight, promoting faster iteration through minimal coding and shared platform ownership. The platform continued to scale as Access Bank pursued international expansion and later merged with Diamond Bank, creating a combined institution with 29 million customers according to Reuters, while ProcessMaker BPM remained the bank level workflow automation platform.
