In 2020, Accion implemented the Q2 Digital Banking Platform as a Digital Banking solution to scale small business lending and streamline the borrower experience. The deployment was anchored at Accion headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts and targeted the U.S. network where staff deliver personalized lending support to underserved entrepreneurs.
The implementation focused on Q2 Digital Banking Platform lending capabilities rather than a narrow database, delivering a full front to end lending platform that consolidated loan origination, document management, automated processing workflows, underwriting support, and operational reporting. Accion configured the platform to provide a single system of record for loan data, enabling consistent data models and centralized loan lifecycle tracking across intake and servicing functions.
Q2 integrated with Salesforce as part of the deployment to align customer relationship workflows with lending operations, enabling CRM driven client engagement and a synchronized view of borrower records between sales and credit teams. Operational coverage emphasized lending operations, customer service, and underwriting teams, shifting staff activity away from manual document collection toward client interaction and case management supported by the integrated stack.
Governance changes included establishing the Q2 Digital Banking Platform as the authoritative loan record and standardizing reporting and workflow policies to enforce consistency across sites. Reported outcomes from the implementation included robust and efficient reporting for real time decision making, faster loan processing, and a single system of record that improved transparency and consistency for Accion's lending data.
