In 2013 ActewAGL implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as an Oracle R12 upgrade across its Canberra operations. The upgrade project ran from November 2013 to February 2014 under a dedicated project manager and encompassed 17 modules spanning Financials, Supply Chain and Projects.
The Oracle E-Business Suite deployment focused on ERP Financial capabilities, configuring core financial management, procurement and project accounting workflows. Implementation activities targeted general ledger configuration, accounts payable and receivable processing, procure-to-pay sequencing and project cost tracking to support financial close and project billing processes. Configuration emphasized R12 financial controls and supply chain transaction flows consistent with enterprise ERP Financial functionality.
Operational scope concentrated on finance, procurement, supply chain and project delivery teams at ActewAGL's Canberra site, aligning business functions for accounting, purchasing, inventory reconciliation and project control. The available project notes do not list specific system integrations or implementation partners.
Project governance relied on a structured upgrade program led by a dedicated project manager from November 2013 to February 2014, using phased configuration, testing and cutover activities to operationalize Oracle E-Business Suite. In 2012, ActewAGL implemented Oracle OBIEE to address critical reporting gaps that emerged during an Oracle E-Business Suite R12 reimplementation. ActewAGL is a Canberra-based electricity and gas provider where project managers and executives required up-to-the-minute project data to manage capital expenditure portfolios.
Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, referred to as Oracle OBIEE, was deployed as the primary Analytics and BI platform intended to provide operational reporting, executive dashboards and ad hoc analysis against Oracle Projects datasets. The implementation concentrated on configuring repository metadata and presentation-layer reports to surface project-level financials and status information consistent with enterprise Analytics and BI workflows.
The OBIEE deployment was integrated with Oracle E-Business Suite data models, specifically targeting Oracle Projects schemas to populate reports and dashboards for project management and finance users. Operational coverage emphasized project controllers, finance teams and executive oversight of capital projects, reflecting the needs of an asset-intensive utility for timely project intelligence.
At the R12 go-live Oracle OBIEE failed to deliver the necessary reports, and with Oracle Discoverer discontinued ActewAGL required an emergency alternative for reporting. This outcome forced accelerated changes to reporting governance and remediation of reporting workflows to restore ad hoc and scheduled project reporting at production go-live.

| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft 365 | Collaboration | Collaboration | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, ActewAGL implemented Microsoft 365 as its core Collaboration platform across its Australian utilities operations. The public ActewAGL website shows the organization is using Microsoft 365 on their website, signaling enterprise adoption of the Microsoft 365 suite for corporate collaboration and productivity.
The Microsoft 365 implementation centers on Collaboration capabilities typical for the Apps Category, including cloud email and calendaring, real time chat and meetings, intranet and document management, individual file storage, and web and desktop productivity apps. Configuration emphasis is on tenant level administration, site and team provisioning, information architecture for SharePoint, mailbox and Teams lifecycle management, and document classification workflows to support corporate communications, operational teams, and field crews.
Architecturally the deployment follows a cloud SaaS tenancy model with centralized administration and integration to the corporate identity and access controls to manage user provisioning and access. Governance and operational controls include role based administration, content retention and compliance policies, and collaboration lifecycle governance to align Microsoft 365 Collaboration capabilities with ActewAGL business functions such as corporate communications, operations, and field service coordination.
