In 2021, Adani Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial backbone, migrating from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and centralizing master data governance across the conglomerate. The deployment was executed under the OneData program to support rapid growth while retaining nine separate SAP ERP instances and creating a unified master data foundation across 11 businesses.
Adani deployed SAP Master Data Governance on SAP S/4 HANA as the central master data hub, supplemented by SAP Data Services and SAP Information Steward for profiling, validation, and enrichment. The implementation explicitly covers financial, vendor, service, customer, and material master data domains and uses workflow-based approvals and standardized data models to enforce consistent definitions and data stewardship.
Architecturally the solution follows a hub and spoke model, with the SAP Master Data Governance instance on SAP S/4 HANA connected to nine downstream ERP systems and to multiple downstream and third-party systems for data distribution. IBM served as the implementation partner, applying ERP migration and integration methodologies to align connectivity across Adani Group’s distributed operations.
Operational governance was reorganized around a central master data management team with defined data owners and integrated active and passive governance workflows. Regular validation and enrichment jobs run through SAP Data Services and monitoring via SAP Information Steward, and a centralized ticketing and workflow process handles roughly 180,000 master data service tickets annually by one team.
The program cleaned and enriched 1.6 million records, produced a vendor master data quality score of 9.87 after processing, and delivered a reported 15% to 20% productivity improvement in central master data management while creating a single source of master data for both SAP and third-party systems. Adani is extending the initiative toward process automation for plant maintenance master data and is evaluating SAP Master Data Governance enterprise asset management extensions and the SAP Asset Information Workbench by Utopia.

In 2022, Adani Group implemented Springworks SpringVerify as its BackGround Screening solution. The vendor lists Adani Group as a customer on the SpringVerify website, confirming public adoption of Springworks SpringVerify.
The Springworks SpringVerify deployment centers on typical background screening capabilities, including identity verification, criminal and address screening, employment and education verification, document checks, consolidated screening reports, and adjudication workflows. Configuration and automation were used to orchestrate screening requests and deliver standard screening packages to recruiting teams.
Operational coverage is focused on HR and talent acquisition functions, embedding Springworks SpringVerify into hiring and onboarding workflows to centralize candidate screening and clearance gating across corporate hiring processes. The implementation supports recruiter initiated and automated screening flows to standardize pre employment verification across hiring channels.
Governance measures were applied to standardize screening policies, enforce data access controls, and maintain audit trails within the screening process, aligning screening operations with enterprise compliance and risk control expectations. Operational change emphasized formalizing verification workflows and centralizing screening decisions within HR operations.

| IBM | Legacy | IBM Maximo | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016, Adani Group engaged IBM to upgrade and implement IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management platform, executing a Maximo 7.2.1 upgrade project based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The onsite Maximo Tech Lead from IBM India conducted requirement gathering and produced the Client Business Requirements document that informed the CBR, HLD, LLD and the Project Management Plan, with a compact implementation team of two for the September 2016 engagement.
The implementation configured core Enterprise Asset Management modules including service request, incident, problem, change, knowledge base, IMAC and work order management, and the team used Jython automation scripting to customize workflows to Adani Group process requirements. Installations included ICD 7.6 with quick start 7.2 across development and production, cluster configuration for high availability and ICD fix pack 7.6.2, while configuration migration utilized the toolset migration manager and the integration framework for bulk loading of asset, item master, location, company and vendor data.
Integrations were explicitly implemented with SAP BI tooling, multiple Microsoft Active Directory instances, network monitoring tools WhatsUp Gold and SolarWinds via secure email integration, and WebSphere integration using SPNEGO for SSO against Microsoft AD. The team performed performance tuning across WebSphere, HTTP, DB2, network layers and SQL query optimization to stabilize dashboards and result sets, reflecting a systems architecture emphasis on application server, database and network stack optimization.
Governance and rollout activities included UAT execution and sign-off from process SPOCs, hyper care and two months of go live support, and operational support handover to address issues for accounts including Honda, IMC, Infratel and Adani. Business functions impacted were asset management, service desk operations, change and configuration management, work order processing and vendor management, with solution design and process documentation retained as part of the implementation governance artifacts.
