In 2010 Aditya Birla Group implemented Oracle PeopleSoft Absence Management. The deployment targeted Absence and Leave Management within the enterprise PeopleSoft HRMS suite to support HR, compensation and performance management business functions across the organization.
The implementation covered administration of multiple PeopleSoft HRMS modules, including Workforce Administration, Position Management, Performance Management, Base and Variable Compensation, and Absence Management, with Oracle PeopleSoft Absence Management configured as the core attendance and leave engine. Functional workstreams included configuration of absence types and eligibility, setup of accrual and carryover rules, design of approval workflows, and administration of the Annual Performance and Compensation Review process from creation of Variable Pay Plans and Compensation Cycles through generation of salary review letters.
Operational integration occurred inside the PeopleSoft HRMS environment with shared master data and transactional coordination between absence, compensation and performance modules, and reporting delivered as MIS and ad hoc outputs to key stakeholders. Support scope included ongoing data audits with recommendations for changes, frontline support to unit HR teams on queries, and preparation of user guides and training materials to sustain operations.
Governance emphasized adherence to standard operating procedures and regular data quality audits to maintain policy compliance across absence and review processes. Responsibilities included producing stakeholder reports, supporting ad hoc reporting requests, and continuous process improvement activities focused on PeopleSoft configuration and operational workflows.
