Operational coverage extended across accounting and finance, procurement, collections, internal audit, IT, and HR. The implementation supported day to day customer collections activities that maintained two percent or less overdue on the aging report, and it formalized processes for processing customer invoices, maintaining weekly customer accounts, and troubleshooting vendor payment issues.
Governance and rollout included extensive pilot testing and data verification led by the company’s accountant and SOX coordinator, coordination of quarterly SOX testing and reporting with outside auditors and the Corporate SOX team, and updating of SOX controls as required. The program was completed in five months, with documented responsibilities for SOX reporting to the Controller and hands on internal audit coverage of accounting, IT, and HR.
