In 2016, Agile Magnetics implemented SAP Business One as its ERP Financial system. At an 80-employee manufacturing company, SAP Business One was adopted to centralize inventory control, coordinate shipments and pickups, and manage the shipping and packaging departments alongside financial recordkeeping and order processing. The platform was used to capture mechanical specification checks and quality inspections for product moving through production, and to house international documentation required for outbound shipments.
SAP Business One was configured to leverage core ERP Financial capabilities including financial accounting, inventory management, sales order processing, purchasing, and warehouse fulfillment workflows. Configuration focused on inventory accuracy and shipping orchestration, with process flows to record packaging operations and quality checkpoints, and document management to store export paperwork and shipment records. The implementation supported heavy workstation use by operations, shipping, packaging and administrative staff.
The deployment operated alongside DBA and EVO, with operational handoffs and integrations between SAP Business One and those systems as part of daily workflows. Carrier usage for UPS, FedEx and DHL was incorporated into shipping procedures to manage label generation, pickups and tracking within order-to-cash and fulfillment processes. Operational coverage included the manufacturing shop floor, shipping and packaging departments, quality assurance, routine maintenance oversight and participation by the safety committee.
Governance was implemented through structured workflows in SAP Business One for shipping approvals, mechanical specification signoffs, routine maintenance scheduling and quality control routing. Responsibilities for inventory control, shipment coordination and international document management were formalized in system records and user tasks, with the DBA and operations teams maintaining system integrity and daily operational continuity.
