A Business Systems specialist was tasked to guarantee correct usage of the Oracle E-Business Suite in the geographical area and to manage projects initiated by the company, establishing role based access and operating procedures. The implementation included configuration of core financial modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and Cash Management, along with automated invoicing and payment workflows aligned to corporate accounting policies. In 2018 Ahlstrom-Munksjö implemented SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as part of a global SAP SuccessFactors suite rollout, positioning the solution within Compensation Management for the group. The deployment of SAP SuccessFactors Compensation was delivered alongside Employee Central, Performance and Goal management, Variable Pay, Succession and Development, Recruiting, Onboarding and Learning Management, creating a cohesive talent and compensation platform.
Configuration work focused on business configuration and annual talent and compensation cycle management, including roles and permissions and documented group administration practices. The implementation included translating business needs into system requirements, defining development initiatives and roadmaps, and building reporting tools and dashboards to support data driven HR and decision making.
Operational coverage was explicitly global and overseen by the Group Administration function, impacting HR, talent management, recruiting, onboarding and learning operations across the company. SAP SuccessFactors Compensation was integrated functionally with Employee Central and the SuccessFactors talent modules in the suite to enable consolidated compensation processes and coordinated variable pay workflows.
Governance and rollout were led by the Head of HR Solutions and Analytics acting as Project Manager and Functional Solution Owner, who maintained solution documentation, managed configuration, coordinated training and user support, and enforced roles and permissions. The project delivered a successful implementation of SAP SuccessFactors Compensation and the broader suite, with stated goals of enabling high quality HR processes and a positive user experience.

In 2020, Ahlstrom-Munksjo selected Tietoevry to build and roll out the Tietoevry Manufacturing Execution System TIPS MES, a Manufacturing Execution System, across its global paper and converting network. The program targeted more than 40 plants and explicitly focused on pulp and paper production and supply-chain execution in Europe and globally.
The Tietoevry TIPS MES deployment centralized real-time data capture and shop floor visibility, and standardized process workflows to deliver transparency and harmonized operating procedures across production sites. Implementation emphasized production execution and process harmonization consistent with Manufacturing Execution System capabilities, enabling consistent control of manufacturing workflows and operational data flows.
Operational scope covered plant operations, production management and supply-chain execution functions across the network, with the rollout addressing both manufacturing and converting lines. The implementation narrative identifies phased global rollout across sites and harmonized process governance as core elements of the program.
Governance changes included standardized operational procedures and cross-site process alignment to support the MES, and the deployment drove improved operational efficiency and profitability as reported by the vendor source. The Tietoevry Manufacturing Execution System TIPS MES now serves as Ahlstrom-Munksjo’s primary Manufacturing Execution System for production and supply-chain execution.
