| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle E-Business Suite | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2012 | 2012 |
In 2012, Alcoa implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial platform. The deployment established Oracle E-Business Suite as the core finance system supporting accounts payable and source to payment transaction flows across North American and European plant locations.
The implementation concentrated on the Accounts Payable module and adjacent finance capabilities within Oracle E-Business Suite, with configuration work focused on invoice capture, matching, payment processing, and approval routing. Functional emphasis included supplier invoicing, order confirmation support, and shared services workflows to centralize transactional finance operations.
Operational integrations centered on procurement organization workflows, shared services teams, supplier interfaces, and related applications that support source to payment processing. The platform was positioned to serve plant level finance teams as well as centralized shared services for North America and Europe, creating a single finance application footprint for transactional processing.
Governance and operational ownership included active management of process enhancement requests to prioritize technical resources, maintenance of documentation to meet audit and compliance guidelines, and day to day production issue resolution. Operational responsibilities also extended to supplier enablement and occasional training on order confirmation and invoicing procedures, aligning process control with system configuration and support.

In 2018, Alcoa implemented Workday Absence Management on its global Workday instance to address Absence and Leave Management across the enterprise. The implementation formed part of a broader HCM rollout where HCM Core, Compensation, Security, Absence, and Payroll architecture were coordinated under a lead global HR technology architect.
Workday Absence Management was configured to manage absence types, eligibility, accrual logic, approval workflows, and absence balances consistent with Absence and Leave Management functional patterns. The project emphasized security role design and configurable business rules to ensure accurate entitlements and auditability within the HR record.
Operational integration was significant, the Alcoa HR technology team worked directly with IT to support hundreds of integrations from Workday to many other systems, including international payroll, time and attendance, and other systems that consume absence data. The implementation also aligned absence data flows with adjacent modules such as Recruiting, Talent, and Learning to maintain HR process continuity.
Governance and rollout activities included coordination with company leaders and centers of excellence to align Workday Absence Management with corporate priorities, ongoing feature implementations, and change requests. Reporting and dashboard development was part of the scope, providing analytical access to absence data and reinforcing security and payroll linkage points for operational integrity.

| LabVantage Solutions | Legacy | LabVantage LIMS | Laboratory Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, Alcoa deployed LabVantage LIMS as its Laboratory Management solution at the Analytical Chemistry Section of the Alcoa Technical Center in Alcoa, Pennsylvania. The implementation targeted the companys testing laboratories to provide a workflow oriented, extensible platform capable of meeting corporate hardware and software standards.
LabVantage LIMS was configured to support high volume sample processing, with the Analytical Chemistry Section handling samples approximately 18 hours a day, six days a week. Configuration emphasized workflow orchestration, robustness and low maintenance, and included redevelopment and integration of a large proprietary analysis package into the LIMS. The deployment also incorporated interfaces to standard metal analysis instrumentation that are specific to Alcoa's testing needs.
The selection followed a successful test run in the mechanical testing laboratory where functionality for physical properties testing was validated, and it was chosen for its developmental capabilities and inherent extensibility. Operational scope focused on the Alcoa Technical Center laboratories, covering analytical chemistry workflows and physical properties testing processes. The LabVantage LIMS Laboratory Management implementation established a centralized application layer for sample lifecycle management, test scheduling, results capture, and data traceability across the testing environment.
Governance centered on configuring the LIMS to align with corporate hardware and software standards, while minimizing inhouse maintenance overhead. The project narrative highlights selection rationale and integration work rather than quantified outcomes or cost figures.
