SAP Legacy SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial ERP n/a 2016 2016
In 2016, Alcon USA implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to centralize core finance operations. The deployment targeted ERP Financial processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting and financial close control across the finance organization. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was configured to support core financial modules and controlling capabilities, with configuration focused on ledger structures, period close workflows, intercompany accounting and statutory reporting. Configuration work included defining extraction points and data mappings to feed downstream reporting and planning systems, enabling automated financial data flows into the enterprise reporting stack. Operational integration extended beyond the ECC application, with transactional processing in SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and data ingested from SAP BW, SAP BPC and SAP GRC into an AWS managed data layer, and visualization delivered through Tableau. This architecture combined on‑application financial processing with an AWS-based data product layer and Tableau analytics to support finance reporting and analytics. Governance and operational ownership emphasize a Technical Product Owner model responsible for enabling Finance with end to end automated data products, managing AWS data artifacts, and coordinating ingestion from SAP ECC, BW, BPC and GRC as well as external sources. Rollout and ongoing stewardship focused on finance organization coverage and centralized data governance for reporting, with the product owner and finance IT teams accountable for configuration controls and data pipeline reliability.

Onit Legacy OnitX ELM Legal Practice Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2016 2016
In 2016, Alcon USA implemented OnitX ELM as its core Legal Practice Management platform to centralize litigation defense, case management, and ethics enforcement within corporate legal operations. The deployment of OnitX ELM was executed as part of a program to establish independent enterprise applications with Alcon only data to support the company separation and IPO timeline and requirements. OnitX ELM was configured to provide matter and case management, legal intake and triage, workflow automation for litigation and case lifecycle activities, and compliance and ethics incident tracking. Configuration work emphasized standardized workflows, role based access controls, and matter level metadata to enable consistent legal intake and case resolution processes across corporate legal teams. The OnitX ELM implementation was aligned with Alcon’s broader corporate systems and SaaS roadmap, operating alongside other global enterprise applications that were stood up during the separation program. Operational scope included corporate legal functions supporting divestiture and IPO activities, with the platform positioned as the centralized Legal Practice Management system for those teams. Governance for the OnitX ELM rollout incorporated application portfolio definition, demand review board prioritization, and financial and operational cost models developed as part of the corporate systems program. The work contributed to meeting the stated objective of separating from the previous corporate ownership and launching Alcon as an independent public company on time and under budget, within a program that controlled $38M of spend and managed 33 applications and 14 projects.
