In 2015 ALCONIX Corporation implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 using Sumisho Information Systems' Trade-Kit template to renovate its core system, targeting improved control and ongoing system support within the ERP Financial category. The implementation was driven by a requirement to strengthen internal control through segregation of duties and to establish an integrated database for real time information access, with SAP ERP ECC 6.0 positioned as the company wide finance and accounting backbone.
The project configuration centered on the Trade-Kit template for trading companies, with functional emphasis on core financial management capabilities, accounting and settlement workflows, and Global Trade Management GTM functionality in SAP ERP to align buying and selling processes. Sumisho Information Systems delivered a template based prototype and led iterative fit and gap sessions with business users to minimize bespoke development, adapting template configuration to cover commercial flow gaps where necessary.
Deployment followed a prototype to production migration path, with production migration starting in September and a planned cutover in October, supported by one stop services from Sumisho Information Systems that included installation through maintenance and operations. Project execution involved direct engagement between Sumisho Information Systems and department heads to prioritize requirements essential for production operation, and the information systems department created for the program managed coordination and execution.
Governance and rollout were accelerated by top management commitment, the president establishing the October cutover as company policy, and concentrated effort by project leadership to resolve open items and negotiate process changes with external trading partners. The focused governance approach and hands on SI support enabled the scheduled production start and transition to operational use.
Since the October term ALCONIX has used the Trade-Kit based SAP ERP ECC 6.0 environment for account settlement and moved into an operational phase, completing quarterly settlement processes in December without fundamental accounting issues. Management reported substantially increased availability of detailed information for decision making, and the deployment established a standardized ERP Financial platform intended for ongoing use and collaborative problem resolution with Sumisho Information Systems.
