The retailer selected Oracle Retail to address accelerated new product introduction, assortment planning and lifecycle pricing demands driven by millennial shoppers, aligning merchandise financial planning with single price strategy, private label mix optimization and faster inventory turnover. Almacenes García deployed Oracle Retail Merchandise Financial Planning together with Oracle Retail Assortment Planning, Oracle Retail Clearance Optimization and Oracle Retail Item Planning to establish centralized planning, forecasting and markdown management. Functional capabilities configured included collaborative assortment workflows, lifecycle price optimization, item level planning and integrated merchandise financial planning processes that align fiscal targets with assortment and item decisions. Oracle Retail Merchandise Financial Planning was used to formalize EPM planning terminology and planning workflows across merchandising and finance. Retail Consult served as the implementation partner, delivering the suite across more than 150 store locations in Mexico in just under 16 months. The deployment leveraged the Retail Reference Library and Oracle Retail reference architecture to execute a largely vanilla implementation with recommended process workflows and architecture patterns. The technical approach focused on centralizing previously disconnected merchandising functions into a unified technology infrastructure that supports store type specific assortments. Governance and process changes emphasized a collaborative, holistic planning approach to move from fragmented workflows to centralized plan governance and cross functional planning cycles. The company reported reduced total cost of ownership through automation and adoption of retail best practices, and described the implementation as a streamlined process supporting a faster fashion cadence. Oracle Retail Merchandise Financial Planning functions as the EPM backbone connecting assortment planning, item planning and clearance optimization to merchandising and finance operations. |
