Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Dynamics GP ERP Financial ERP n/a 2013 2013
In 2013, American Society for Clinical Pathology implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP as its ERP Financial system. The deployment centralized grant and contract financial administration for a 250 person nonprofit, supporting budgeting, cost controls, billing and revenue classification across the Center for Global Health and grants administration teams. Microsoft Dynamics GP was configured to support core financial modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and project accounting to track grant and contract budgets and expenditures. Functional use aligned with documented grants financial administration tasks such as preparing cost control analyses, initiating budget amendments and line item transfers, performing billing preparation, and supporting time and effort distribution for salary and wage allocation. The implementation integrated with Concur Expense Reporting, Microsoft Excel based reporting workflows and Crystal Reports to certify budgets and verify wire transfer coding. Operational coverage centered on grants and contract staff, finance leadership responsible for internal controls, and coordination with country managers to ensure expenditures were coded against the correct project budgets. Governance and process work included development of grant and contract administration policies and procedures consistent with state, local and federal regulations, training and mentoring of grant staff on allowable expenses and time reporting, and serving as the liaison to external auditors for A 133 audit and grantor requests for supporting documentation. Microsoft Dynamics GP provided the financial backbone for maintaining revenue and expense classification in the Center for Global Health budget and for executing the organization s documented internal control and reporting workflows.
