In 2020 Amy's Kitchen migrated from Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 on-premise to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, deploying a cloud-based ERP Financial platform to unify inventory, manufacturing, order management and financials. The implementation targeted manufacturing plants and corporate finance and order operations to address a patchwork of disconnected systems supporting global ingredient sourcing.
Columbus spent six months with the Amy's team to map pain points across functional areas, bringing cross functional teams together and evaluating processes prior to configuration and cutover. Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations was configured to manage inventory tracking into plants, production control, growing agreements, order management and core financial ledgers, aligning supply chain and manufacturing workflows. The project emphasized modular configuration of manufacturing execution, inventory management, order to cash and financial modules consistent with ERP Financial capabilities.
Amy's Kitchen integrated Power BI alongside Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to deliver leadership dashboards and streamline regular reporting processes, providing more efficient distribution of insights to management teams. Operational coverage included plant level material tracking and production facilities as well as corporate finance and order management functions. The deployment leveraged the cloud deployment model to centralize data and reporting across sites sourcing ingredients globally.
Governance and rollout included Columbus led process mapping, phased configuration and cross functional coordination between operations, supply chain and finance teams. Outcomes explicitly cited by Amy's include improved tracking of materials into plants, stricter production control, more efficient production facilities with reduced downtime and time savings in generating regular reports for management. Sebastian Mindling, Sr. Director of Enterprise Applications, described the deployment as a new breed of ERP that consolidates inventory, financials, order management and manufacturing into a single platform.
