In 2016, AppDynamics implemented Coupa Invoice to support AP Automation for its corporate finance and Accounts Payable function. The deployment centered on the Accounts Payable team in San Francisco and extended to finance operations responsible for multi-currency supplier payments and global vendor relationships.
Coupa Invoice was configured to handle high-volume invoice intake and processing, supporting workflows for invoice capture, invoice routing, GL coding, and payment preparation. The environment processed up to 300 daily invoices as noted by AP staff, and included capabilities for vendor record maintenance, tax document management such as W-9 collection and 1099 filing support, and production of accounts payable reports used for month-end journal entries and reconciliations.
The implementation integrated Coupa Invoice with NetSuite to push GL-coded journal entries and to reconcile bank and credit card activity with the general ledger. Payment orchestration covered weekly wire and ACH runs across multiple currencies and countries, aligning invoice-to-payment lifecycle events between Coupa Invoice and the company accounting ledger.
Operational governance emphasized internal control and SOX compliance, with AP staff using Coupa Invoice workflows to support audit preparation and ongoing compliance activities. The configuration and process controls were documented to support general accounting functions, month-end close tasks, and vendor communication workflows managed by the Accounts Payable team.

Operational ownership rested with Frankie Rae Callahan, Head of Learning and Development, and the Learning and Development function, with initial scope concentrated on managers and their direct teams and a planned scale to individual contributors and new managers. Governance included defined coaching cadences, manager follow up routines, and the incorporation of coaching outcomes into leadership development curricula to support lasting behavioral change.
The engagement produced measurable results, and AppDynamics is currently scaling its work with BetterUp to extend coaching to individual contributors, new managers, and diversity programs. AppDynamics BetterUp Digital Coaching Digital Coaching is reported by leadership to generate powerful coaching moments that managers then replicate with their teams, shifting management practice toward coaching oriented behaviors.
